I have no more letters from Arnold in Korea for the rest of 1946. Subsequent correspondence will be from California, after he was sent home on terminal leave in August 1946 and demobilized on September 15. Here I post the rest of Arnold's photos from 1946 (either Korea or Japan) as well as his certificate of service and separation.

On May 26, 1946, Arnold writes to his parents with photos of Korea and Koreans. I included scans of the backs of the photos because they had Arnold's comments and descriptions. He is later sent home on terminal leave starting August 7, 1946, as he calculates, and officially demobilized in mid September.

Hank Schwaller writes to Arnold from Kansas, where Hank has been discharged from the Army and says he will use the provision of the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, commonly known as the G.I. Bill, for a low interest, zero down payment home loan for new construction.

Arnold types a letter to his folks for the first time. Spoiler alert: Many of the things in this letter do come to pass, eventually. Leonard does indeed open the New York City office and then quits the family business (Ideal Systems) to study medicine. Bill and Hazel will take that long awaited trip to Europe in 1957 after Bill retires. And here we first learn that Arnold wants to be a medical missionary, not just a regular missionary, and in Korea in particular.
